Laura Anaya-Morga, Reporter, Boyle Heights Beat

Laura has dedicated her career to community-centered journalism that uplifts Latino and bilingual audiences. Most recently, she served as editor of the Las Vegas Review-Journal en Español, leading coverage of the historic 2024 Latino vote in Nevada and overseeing the production of a weekly Spanish-language paper. As the Bilingual Communities Reporter at the Long Beach Post, she built innovative social strategies, community engagement efforts, and bilingual outreach to reach Spanish-speaking residents. Laura is a UC Riverside grad with a B.A. in Media and Cultural Studies and a recipient of the MJ Bear Fellowship from the Online News Association. Her reporting has earned multiple awards, including first-place honors from CCNMA for feature writing and breaking news coverage.
