From Fear to Care: Navigating Mental Health Amid ICE Raids

Fear. Isolation. Anxiety. In the wake of recent ICE activity, many families are experiencing emotional trauma in silence. That’s why we’re hosting a community conversation focused on healing, resilience, and culturally-grounded care. Panelists will share resources, stories, and strategies to support one another in this difficult time.

Thursday, July 24

  • Backpack Giveaway: The Boys & Girls Club at Estrada Courts is stepping up to help with your back-to-school needs, providing 600 backpacks full of school supplies available on a first-come basis. Free dental and vision screenings are also available. 2 to 6 p.m.

Friday, July 25

  • Food Distribution: Los Angeles General Medical Center is hosting a free food distribution in collaboration with the L.A. Regional Food Bank. Open to patients and community members from 9 to 10:30 a.m. and employees from 10:30 to 11 a.m. 
  • Goth x Punk Party: The Paramount is hosting “De Noche,” a free, 21+ goth x punk party. Expect music, dance, tarot readings and more. RSVP to attend. Doors open 9 p.m.

Saturday, July 26

  • Art Bike Ride: Join People for Mobility Justice for a bike ride through Boyle Heights East L.A., exploring the murals that make the communities unique. Meet at Mariachi Plaza at 9 a.m. before riding out. The free event ends at noon. 
  • Music Bike Ride: Head to LA Plaza de Cultural y Artes for a free bike ride through the musical monuments and history of Boyle Heights. RSVP to attend. 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Movie Night: Head to Libros Schmibros for a free movie screening on “Boogie Nights,” a 70s story following a young busboy’s rise to stardom. RSVP to attend. 7 to 9 p.m.
  • Goth Lucha Libre: Don Quixote is hosting a wrestling show with a goth twist full of live music, wrestling matches, goth merch vendors and more. $40+ tickets. Doors for the 21+ show open at 7 p.m. with an afterparty starting at 11 p.m.

Sunday, July 27 

  • Hometown Show: Musical artists brynne, keanu and Minh are dropping into the Paramount for a night of mellow music. $25 tickets. Doors open 7 p.m.
