Love the small businesses that make Boyle Heights thrive? Now you can support them and have a chance at winning prizes while you’re at it.

Today we introduce the De Aquí: The Boyle Heights Business Passport, an invitation by Boyle Heights Beat and the Boyle Heights Chamber of Commerce to shop local, support your favorite neighborhood spot or discover a new one.

From grabbing a bite to picking up a gift or treating yourself, every stop is an opportunity to connect with the small businesses, makers, creatives and entrepreneurs that make Boyle Heights special.

Here’s how it works:

  • Visit: Explore the 18 participating businesses featured in your passport.
  • Shop: Make a purchase at each stop to support local businesses.
  • Stamp: Ask each business to stamp your passport after your purchase.
  • Win: Collect stamps to qualify for prizes!
    • Collect at least 9 of 18 stamps by Oct. 30, 2026, to receive a special prize, redeemable only at the Día de Muertos Community Block Party at Mariachi Plaza on Friday, Oct. 30.
    • Collect all 18 stamps by Nov. 16, 2026, to be entered into a raffle for a special gift basket featuring goodies from participating businesses. Bring your completed passport to the Boyle Heights Beat newsroom (2026 E. 1st St., Los Angeles, CA 90033) during business hours.
