Boyle Heights Beat to host Journalism Day for prospective students

For nearly 15 years, Boyle Heights Beat youth reporters from in and around the neighborhood have been bringing you news por y para la comunidad. As the school year comes to an end, we’re starting to recruit for our next cohort of students. If you or someone you know would be interested in being a part of our youth news team, we’ve got the perfect event coming up next month.

On Saturday, May 11, the Beat is hosting Journalism Day at our office (2026 E. 1st Street). From 10 a.m. through 12 p.m., student attendees will get an in-depth presentation of our semester-long internship and learn about all the opportunities we have to offer. Those interested in attending can RSVP here. Also, make sure to keep an eye on future newsletters and our social media channels to learn about our workshop offerings this summer.
