It’s nearly halfway through June, a month dedicated to celebrating and recognizing the LGBTQIA+ community. If you haven’t had a chance to show off your pride, you’re in luck. 

Whether you’re looking for resources, want to support queer and trans vendors or just have fun in community, we’ve got a list of Eastside events happening later this month all about “orgullo.”

Pride flag workshop

City Terrace Library: The county library is hosting an in-person workshop, ‘Pride Month: Cross Stitch Flags,’ where attendees aged 13-17 can cross-stitch their own personal pride flag. The workshop will also include a discussion on the colors of the pride flag and what they mean.

Queer and trans liberation celebration

Inner City Struggle: The non-profit organization is hosting ‘Atardeceres Con La Lucha: Orgullo’, their second Pride event aimed at embracing and celebrating LGBTQIA+ community members. Attendees will get to enjoy music, a live poetry reading by Sonia Guiñansaca, as well as participate in a wheatpasting workshop by The Unapologetic Street Series.

Latino pride celebration

LA Plaza de Cultura y Artes: To kick off Pride Month activities, the community hub is hosting its annual cultural ‘¡Jotería!’ event.

Celebrating the LGBTQIA+ Latinx community, the festivities will include DJs, live performances, vendors, food, arts & crafts, resource booths, giveaways and more. The event is open to all ages and is produced through a partnership with Salvies Who Lunch.

Due to ongoing immigration raids across Los Angeles, event organizers have postponed the event. A new date will be shared in the near future.

Pride in the Park

L.A. County Parks & Recreation: More than 60 L.A. County parks are celebrating Pride throughout the month of June with food, resource fairs, entertainment and free giveaways centered on supporting the LGBTQIA+community and equality for all.

Join the fun every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday during Pride month at participating parks. Start times vary by location.

Eastside Pride: East L.A.’s Queer Mercado is teaming up with BLVD MRKT for Eastside Pride on June 21. Enjoy live performances including this year’s headliner Acoustic Wet Dreams, food from local vendors and unique goods brought to you by talented queer artisans. The event also includes the ‘Whittier Blvd Art Crawl’ featuring 20 live queer artists.

Guests can experience an art show,  ‘Stronger Together’ curated by Monica Caram. Come with family, friends and loved ones to the heart of Montebello and bask in a vibrant market filled with creativity, community and love.

Pride wrestling matches

Don Quixote: Alliance For All Wrestling is hosting a live professional wrestling show, “Ugh As If!,” AFA’s first-ever Tag Team Championship this month. Join SoCal’s premiere LGBTQIA+ centric wrestling promotion for a high-impact celebration of Pride Month.

Witness the amazing talent of more than 20 professional wrestlers, including the debut of six new AFA team members. Ticket prices range from $27 to $40 for the event.
