Two people were killed and another was injured in separate shootings in Boyle Heights and East L.A. this weekend. 

The first incident occurred at around 3:20 p.m. Saturday on the 3000 block of Wabash Avenue in Boyle Heights, according to a spokesperson from the Los Angeles Police Department. A suspect fired multiple rounds and struck two victims, described only as Latino males in their early 20s, police said.

One of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene and the other was transported to a nearby hospital in an unknown condition. The deceased victim was later identified by the L.A. County Coroner as 19-year-old Alonzo Reyes.

Another deadly shooting took place in nearby East L.A. early Sunday morning. 

According to the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department, a witness heard several gunshots on the 500 block of N. Rowan Avenue shortly after midnight. 

The witness also reported seeing two individuals running away from the location, where a victim was found suffering from gunshot wounds, officials said

The victim, described only as a Latino male, was pronounced dead at the scene. 

No additional information on the suspect or victims was available at the time of this report.
