A fire tore through a Boyle Heights apartment building under construction for the second time in a week early Tuesday morning.

Firefighters responded to the scene near the corner of Soto Street and Lancaster Avenue at 1:32 a.m. and were able to knock down the flames in under half an hour, according to an LAFD alert

The initial fire on May 30 had structurally weakened the roof and floors of the three-story building, which posed dangers for firefighters, the LAFD alert, said.

There were no injuries reported and the cause of fire is under investigation.

The building appeared to be almost completed at the time of the blaze and was surrounded by a chain link fence that firefighters had to remove to access the structure, according to video on social media.
