The East LA Classic draws thousands of football fans from across the Eastside and beyond, and this year will be no different.

Ahead of the big game, players, cheerleaders, coaches and school officials gathered for a press conference at East LA College’s Weingart Stadium on Wednesday to kick off the 90th edition of one of the most storied rivalries in high school sports.

“It’s another year of history here in the Eastside where both schools are gonna demonstrate what they’re made of: courage, valor, sportsmanship, community, unity and that’s what this East LA Classic is all about,” said Rocío Rivas, Los Angeles Unified board member representing the Eastside.

The East LA Classic will take place on Friday, Oct. 24, at East LA College’s Weingart Stadium. JV football will take the field at 3:15 p.m. with girls’ flag football on at 5:45 ahead of the varsity game, which kicks off at 7:45 p.m. Tickets are available online via GoFan.
