The run hosted over 1,000 participants from 3 to 89 years old, according to event organizers. Avid runners and first-time racers from the community joined in, as well as school groups and neighborhood running crews.
The race began at Mariachi Plaza and took 5K runners south down Boyle Avenue, west on Whittier Boulevard across the 6th Street Bridge, for a full loop back. Munchkin runners took part in a shorter one-mile race.
Participants were then greeted with a classic car show and community festival featuring live music, performances and food.
