Applebee’s and IHOP, two major restaurant chains, can now be found under one roof on Century Boulevard in Inglewood.
The dual-branded restaurant opened its doors on June 9 and is the first Applebee’s IHOP in the LA area, said franchise owner Ashoori Group. It’s located at 4410 W. Century Blvd., and will be open 24/7, according to a June 4 press release.
“Bringing both brands together under one roof gives guests the flexibility to satisfy any craving, any time of day, from breakfast through late night,” said Sean Ashoori, vice president of Ashoori Group, in a company statement.
Shawn Lowe, who drove from nearby Gardena and prefers Applebee’s, told The LA Local she was curious about the new brand partnership.
“I like the look,” Lowe said. “We used to come when it was IHOP. So, I’m coming to give it a try.”
The Applebee’s IHOP signifies continued development and changing dining options in Inglewood as the city becomes host to current and future mega events like the World Cup, Super Bowl and Olympics.
Last month saw the opening of Raising Cane’s on Century Boulevard and, in May, the Inglewood Planning Commission unanimously approved a permit for a drive-thru Chick-fil-A on Manchester Boulevard.
On top of all of that, Sprouts Farmers Market was set to open its first store in the city on Crenshaw Boulevard on July 10 — the company later updated that to August 21 — months after the Food 4 Less on Century closed at the end of March.
Inglewood Mayor James Butts told The LA Local in an email the new Applebee’s IHOP are “yet another first in the resurrected City of Champions.”
“Inglewood welcomes the pairing of IHOP and Applebees; two iconic dining titans located in the Century Blvd gateway to SoFi Stadium and the Intuit Dome,” Butts wrote.
The Los Angeles International Airport, which can be accessed from Century Boulevard, is also about 3 miles away from Applebee’s IHOP.
“I think it’s a little bit weird because I never put these two together in my mind,” said Kenia Reyes after flying in from Hillsboro, Oregon. “I do love breakfast, but I came for the Applebee’s.”
