As an air quality advisory remains in effect for the Boyle Heights warehouse fire, residents in the surrounding neighborhoods are continuing to deal with smoke that has at times reached unhealthy levels.

Here’s where you can get help:

Smoke relief centers

Residents can visit these smoke relief centers, which are open 24/7. These centers offer masks, food, water, temporary shelter, pet assistance and public health/air quality information.

If your family has been affected by the fire, the Weingart East LA YMCA is providing shelter from smoke exposure.

Boyle Heights Arts Conservatory 

The BHAC is open as a community resilience hub. Youth, families, elders and neighbors can stop by for a cool filtered indoor space, free Wi-Fi, KN95 masks, device charging and community resources.

Alma Youth & Family Center 

Residents impacted by the Lineage warehouse fire are invited to access free clothing, shoes, masks, cleaning supplies, resource navigation, and psycho-emotional support provided by Alma’s mental health promoters.

Free transportation to shelter sites

Uber is providing support for residents impacted by the fire, and more information is available at https://lacounty.gov/emergency/

Eligible residents can receive:

  • Up to two free rides
  • Up to $40 per trip
  • Travel must be to or from temporary shelter locations

To redeem:

  1. Open the Uber app
  2. Go to Wallet
  3. Add promo code: ELASAFE26
  4. Request your ride

Eligibility:

  • Must live within 2.5 miles of the fire
  • Promo code valid through June 27
